Providing legal advice to staff members experiencing legal problems.Servicing of committees relating to disciplinary matters.Participating in meetings between management and unions to advise on and assist with interpretation and negotiation of existing, revised and new terms and conditions of service.Conducting preliminary investigation into labour relations or other related problems with legal implications and submitting briefs, statements or case law and other preliminary data.Providing advice and assistance to managers and staff regarding the terms and conditions of employment.Advising management on industrial relations issues in accordance with relevant legislation.Providing clarification on the application of clauses in contracts and collective agreements.Drafting and reviewing contracts and cooperative agreements between UWI Mona and other universities, colleges and research centres. ![]() Undertaking general legal work on behalf of the Mona Campus with colleagues from assigned law firms.Attending court sessions and watching proceedings on behalf of the Campus.Drafting regulations, policy statements, procedures and exemptions clauses pertaining to issues of relevance to the Mona Campus.Maintaining up to date records on relevant legislations, and precedents and advising on and interpreting provisions of relevant Statutes, Ordinances and Orders for Managers and Staff.Advising management on legal matters such as Writs, Affidavits, and Statements of Claim and suitable courses of action.Law firms, where representation is required.
